We last heard about the Alien FX series back in February when filming had resumed in Thailand. FX chairman John Landgraf said the Alien series is a “big imaginative reimagining of that franchise” and is designed to be an ongoing series.

The show stars Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, Kit Young, Timothy Olyphant, David Rysdahl, Babou Cessay, Erana James, Lily Newmark and Adrian Edmonson. The Alien series is supposed to be aiming for a release in the first half of 2025 on the Hulu streaming platform.

Could be that they didn't want to steal the spotlight from Romulus. Doesn't make sense to me as I believe promoting one will synergistically boost the hype for the other (at least for now, maybe not it Romulus is a dud). But maybe it's just a matter of respect or even Disney/20th Century forcing them to keep mum about it right now.

I imagine Alien Day 2025 will be all about the series though.

I truely don't think it's a big deal. I'd rather he focuses on making the actual thing then be forced to address the fans in some awkward video or half assed photo. He doesn't seem like the type to engage with fandom in that way, and I think that's totally fine.

He's been working on this thing for like 3 1/2 years. Taking 5 minutes to post a photo acknowledging the people who will be supporting his show next year won't keep him from continuing his work on it 🤷🏼

Neat. Really looking forward to seeing how it is executed in this.

    Legion is fantastic.

And yes. Is very important execution.  I Love Noah H and want  see his reinvent Alien more than Romulus ( too i see of course).

But want know.  Alien/Noah is  universe Alien o not?.Let them explain it clearly publicly.

It is his series that will be in or out, not the rest.

He is no one to decide about the rest.

I'm just saying that if it breaks a lot  continuity, it's the series that's out like Legion. And Fox want Legion same universo but Noah reinvent a lot and chague idea Fox.

It can happen again with the Alien series.

In post-production Fox  will surely decide this. And  is sure than decision is only serie in or out  , not rest movies, no prequels.

Months later before the premiere that changed. He said it was another universe.

Noah doesn't rule. If continuity changes a lot  THE SERIES will be out of the Alien universe. Not Prequels.

Romulus connects with Alien but connects with prequels too becose is a same universe. Romulus and prequels is another universe? . Obviously not.

Noah will or will not change continuity like he did with Legion but if it is drastic Fox will do the same as Legion even though Fox wanted Legion in the same universe. But Noah broke up a lot and there was no other option.

Scott does not want prequels outside or Fox. There may be errors like in the X-MEN cinematic universe but EVERYTHING is the same universe except Legion ( other  timeline )
Noah can cause that with the Alien series if he breaks everything like Legion. But only  with  little  errors sitill is  universe Alien.

What matters is the execution. You can have a remarkable story in its own universe and a bad one being canon.

    Btw, Legion is dope.

To be fair, that could purely be down to the artists not knowing the lore that in depth. I wouldn't worry too much about the exact designs on the artwork. If Hawley knows and cares, that'll change in the final product.

Quote from: Nightmare Asylum on Apr 19, 2024, 07:38:44 PMThat could be case, if it starts pre-Prometheus and jumps forward after the events of that film, though it still doesn't totally account for the Aliens WY logo being used in the concept art, when it should be the Alien styled one at that point in the timeline (unless that detail in the art isn't actually reflective of what we end up seeing on-screen).

Remember what Noah said about ignoring the prequels? That might extend to more than just what the prequels did with the Aliens.

There was also a comment from last year where Hawley referred to the prequels as "historical documents," which is why I've been so inclined to think that he might just be retconning the Alien's origins but still leaving it that the prequels themselves exist within the continuity of his series.

In light of the apparent pre-Prometheus existence of Weyland-YUTANI, however... I have no idea what to think anymore.

There's only one explanation for all of this timeline kerfuffle we're experiencing here, of course:

We'll get one of those, and through it David will travel back in time and get stranded on LV-426, that way the Derelict and its cargo can be ancient while still retaining David as the one in the chair. Win, win for everyone! ;)

    Make this make sense! :D

They say it deals with the "emergence" of WY, so it may not necessarily have the conglomerate in this. Deadline sometimes gets stuff wrong. Either that or Hawley is completely ignoring/retconning Prometheus.

The actress is Korean, so she can pass as Japanese. Perhaps a Yutani executive?

QuoteEXCLUSIVE: Foundation star Sandra Yi Sencindiver has joined FX and Noah Hawley's Alien series which is filming in Thailand.

Exec-produced by Ridley Scott, the prequel series will be set towards the end of this century (a few years before Prometheus, and some thirty years before Scott's film). It'll be the first project in the franchise to take place on Earth and has been reported to deal with the emergence of the story's infamous Weyland-Yutani Corporation and the race between corporations to create new android life.

We understand that Sencindiver appears in multiple eps and will play a senior member of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. We hear there's scope for the character to grow in future series.
