This. If the gameplay inspires a similar positivity as Borderlands did (which I use as the Gearbox example rather than DNF), it could be higher. Well, on IGN at least.

Screw Metacritic. That shit devalues all opinions made by any one individual. Besides, you can't compare a score of a 8/10 to a score of 3/5 for example, that doesn't make any sense. Metacritic shouldn't be taken as a means to anything.

I think a 7.5 is a huge accomplishment. I will tell you why.

AVP 2010 sold nearly 2 million copies across its platforms with mixed reviews. If ACM can be like a high 7 or low 8 in scores from major sites than there is no reason why ACM won't sell MORE copies than AVP 2010.

I think this is going to cause it major hurt.

I honestly do, too. Forces it to be a conventional shooter. I know this cost it a sale with me... Got no interest in yet another game where you shoot things with a rifle. Been there, done that. Needs something more.

But I do agree that it shouldn't be another generic shooter for both SP and MP.

No, MP is part and parcel of every shooter nowadays. Just because one is fang and claws doesn't make it any different really. While if they had a SP mode for the alien it automatically makes it more unique. In particular if they had done it with any kind of AI intelligence at all, unlike AvP3.
