I've never understood that about message board culture in general, not just here.  To be honest, I'm a bit embarrassed that I have so many.

It was an early thing. People used to give a crap about post count - seemed to matter - and since the rec board was for spam, essentially, it was removed for here. Just never been changed.

I didn't mean to imply that it's a policy I disagree with.  I'm talking about high post counts being regarded as a badge of honor by some.  It's something I never understood.
